She completed her medical degree at the University of Tasmania and then moved to Newcastle NSW to complete all her post-graduate training. Sarah has worked as a psychiatrist in both the private and public sector in Newcastle NSW and has vast experience in treating patients in both inpatient and outpatient settings.

She is passionate about providing holistic and recovery-oriented care for her patients. In 2019 she was awarded a special psychiatry award – a NSW HETI Fellowship which involved treating dual diagnosis mental health and substance use disorders in especially vulnerable Perinatal and Adult populations, of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander backgrounds. During this Fellowship she worked across 5 settings, which included the Royal Flying Doctors, to provide outreach services to Rural populations. 

In addition to her clinical work, Sarah has had a variety of Leadership, Mentoring and Teaching Roles. In 2019 she was elected as co-president of her Registrar Cohort. She is currently a committee member of the NSW Faculty of Addiction Psychiatry. Sarah is also a Conjoint Lecturer and Examiner for the University of Newcastle, Faculty of Health & Medicine. 

In her spare time, Sarah enjoys spending time with the people she loves. She is often busy chasing after her 4 children – 2 of whom are very naughty Siberian Huskies!
